The GTO V12 displaces 6.0 liters and delivers nearly 661 horsepower at an amazing 8250 rpm (with 457 pound-feet of torque). That calculates to more than 110 horsepower per liter of displacement, without turbochargers or superchargers, a ratio not previously seen in a road engine this large.

The six-speed auto-clutch transmission takes its electro-hydraulic controls from Ferrari's Formula One racing gearboxes. It's operated with carbon-fiber paddles on the steering column, and shift speeds are among the lowest ever in a road car. Acceleration is interrupted for imperceptible milliseconds as the transmission flies up through its gears.
